Re-Commissioning

The Client

Part of Hallmark Health System, Inc., Melrose-Wakefield is a non-profit, 234-bed general hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including acute medical and surgical services, diabetes management and treatment, maternity, oncology/hematology, and inpatient psychiatric care. Known for the quality of its cardiac care, the hospital operates a cardiac catheterization lab and emergency angioplasty service in association with the Massachusetts General Hospital.

The Project

ICO Energy and Engineering conducted an Energy Study to identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) within the central plant mechanical systems, and performed an Infrastructure Planning Initiative to increase the capacity and reliability of the main data center. A comprehensive facility re-commissioning (RCx) effort was conducted, focused on identifying operating deficiencies within the mechanical systems of the central plant.

ICO continues to support hospital staff with the evaluation, selection, and management of vendors used to implement any recommended and approved measures. We also continue to provide ongoing commissioning services to ensure optimized performance and maximized benefits from all system enhancements.
