University of Massachusetts Boston
A 1,077-bed student-housing complex, the newest UMass Boston residence hall consists of two buildings ranging from seven to twelve stories. The facility offers a mix of room styles, from single-occupancy apartments to four-person units. It also features living/learning amenities open to the entire UMass Boston community, including seminar rooms, study lounges, and a 500-seat dining hall.
The $120 million, 260,000-square-foot complex was built through a public-private partnership, a model that is the first of its kind for the UMass system. The UMass Building Authority contracted with Capstone Development Partners to lease a portion of the UMass Boston campus to construct the residence hall.
ICO worked under contract with Capstone Development Partners to perform LEED Commissioning Services on the mechanical, plumbing, electric and lighting controls systems.
Project attained LEED Gold Certification
